LAWRENCE STEPHEN LOWRY (1877-1976) - Street Scene, pen and pencil drawing of figures and a dog with buildings, a church and factory beyond, signed and dated 1949 bottom right, 15cm x 10cm, drawn on a page of an autograph book. Provenance: Drawn by the artist for the vendor and his mother as an autograph. They had become friends and met regularly at Manchester City Art Gallery restaurant in the late 1940s. Letter of authentication from The Lowry was acquired in July 2002 and accompanies this lot. An image of the work held on file is at The Lowry. Artists resale right applies to this lot.
