Careers at Fieldings Auctioneers

Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

• Support the day to day running of the ceramics and glass department.

• Answer email and phone enquiries. 

• Assist senior team members in researching and cataloguing. 

• Assist with writing of valuation and probate reports.

• Attend valuation appointments with senior team members.

• Assist with regular in house and away valuation days. 

• Maintain social media accounts for ceramics and glass departments.

• Assist with photography of lots. 

• Lotting and saleroom set up prior to auction.

• Assist with proposals, where appropriate and the writing of online auction catalogues.

• Assist other departments where appropriate.

The Candidate :

• Preferably a degree in Art/Art History or related

• Preferably an interest/knowledge of ceramics and glass.

• Preferably previous experience working with the auction industry.

• Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent written and spoken communication.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good research and writing skills.

• Ability to work well in a team and independently. 

• Hard working.

• Strong IT skills.

• Good photography skills.

• A knowledge and proficiency with social media.

The package :

• Competitive salary dependant on experience.

• 20 days annual holiday, rising by 1 day per year to 25 days.
