A Japanese silver Meiji period box or inro formed as two interlinked squares, the pull off lid engraved with blossoming prunus and pine trees, gilt metal diamond shaped cartouche with chrysanthemum flowers in relief, cranes in flight to the sides, the base with two loop handles and Japanese characters to underside, weight 3oz, 6.3cm x 5.4cm.
