Robert Wallace Martin - Martin Brothers - A large late 19th Century stoneware jug decorated with incised lily flowers, tinted in white with the motto 'Welcome my friende, drinke with a noble hearte. But yet before you drinke too much departe. For though good drinke will make a coward stout. Yet when too much is in, the wit is out' (sic), all to a brown ground with incised wavy lines to the collar neck, the handle terminal formed as a relief moulded Green man mask, incised London and Southall mark, dated 5-1887, height 37cm S/D
