Charles Dickens (1812-1870) - An invitation card to Mrs Talfourd to an 'Amateur Performance at Miss Kelly's Theatre, 73, Dean Street, Soho on Saturday Evening, the 20th September, at Seven O'Clock', signed Charles Dickens verso, together with a theatre play bill for the same performance in 1845, together with a later autograph Royal Hotel Aberdeen envelope addressed to 'William Logan Esquire, 21 Maxwell Street', signed Charles Dickens to the bottom left corner, annotated in a different hand 'Charles Dickens - Oct 8, 1858' and a ticket to 'Mr Dickens's Farewell, City Hall, Glasgow, Thursday Evening, 18th February, 1869'. (4) N.B. Rachel Talfourd was the wife of Sir Thomas Noon Talfourd, to whom Charles Dickens dedicated 'The Pickwick Papers' in 1837. Provenance - Consigned from the deceased estate of a private collector.
