Brilliantly Bizarre : Our most important Clarice Cliff auction to date

Fieldings Auctioneers Ltd are now recognised as the leading auction house in the world for the sale of this iconic designers work, led by the knowledge and enthusiasm of one of our directors Will Farmer.

This year marks Will Farmers 40th in the world of Clarice and over the years he has lectured on her around the world, written books, consulted, and even featured in the recent biopic on her life and work.

For the last 16 years Fieldings Auctioneers have been holding twice yearly auctions dedicated to this landmark designer and drawing attention from collectors and enthusiasts around the globe.

In recent years Fieldings sold their 10,000th piece of Clarice Cliff and Wills extensive knowledge of the subject, back story, patterns and prices has made him the go to for sellers and collectors.

Our dedicated Clarice Cliff sale took place on the 14th of March, and was a landmark event in the world of Clarice Cliff. With 300 lots the auction was one of the most significant offerings of her work in decades and offered a chance for both new and seasoned collectors to begin or add to their collections with estimates ranging from £30 to £10,000! Most doubling and tripling their pre-sale estimate.

The sale included unique factory trials, fresh to market examples and some of the rarest pieces ever seen including the seldom seen Age of Jazz figures, twenty Lotus Jugs, six 18” chargers, two Yo-Yo vases and a vast selection of some of the rarest designs, including many Applique pieces and dozens of desired abstracts! Some of the key pieces returning to market after 30 years and offered a chance to own a slice of Clarice Cliff history.
