Now in its 20th year, the Festival programme will celebrate the theme Past, Present, Future - looking back over the past two decades and raising a glass to the future of the ever growing international glass scene. This year the Festival will be joined by world class glass artists from Japan, China, USA, The Netherlands and Hungary as well as the UK. With a dynamic line up of exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures and performances, the programme offers a unique opportunity to learn about, have a go at, discuss, purchase or simply admire this fantastic craft form. The 10th British Glass Biennale will again be the flagship exhibition of the Festival. Showcasing the work of 121 artists, the exhibition represents the most interesting, diverse and outstanding glass art made in the UK in the last two years. Work by established and emerging artists will be on display, including 21 students, forming a superb showcase of contemporary British based glass talent. It provides the opportunity to see and buy from the ‘next big thing’ as well as investing in the work of world-renowned glass artists.
Will Farmer is Trustee of Stourbridge Glass Museum and will be holding the bank holiday Monday auction at 4pm on 26th August, as well as being on the judging panel for the Bead Biennale and also Fieldings Auctioneers will be giving a prize to the best newcomer.
