Results from the Winnie The Pooh Archive auction

On Thursday 16th January 2025 Fieldings sold the unseen Archive of Manuscripts, Autographs, Drafts and Corrected Proofs for Now We Are Six, and The House at Pooh Corner and other material relating to Winnie the Pooh, originally from the Estate of Frederick Muller of Methuen’s and then by descent.

The Total sale result including buyer’s premium total was an incredible £120,000

This archive offered a unique opportunity for friends of Winne the Pooh to read and understand the creative genius first hand and represents probably the last collection of documents and manuscripts to come to market.

It was thought that the greater majority of papers relating to A.A.Milne, Shepherd and Muller were all accounted for,  so this really was considered the last piece of the puzzle for what are without doubt some of the worlds most famous childrens books ever written, featuring the worlds most famous honey loving bear!

Quote from Will Farmer - Director

‘We are thrilled and slightly emotional after handling this wonderful and unique archive. Selling this collection which hasn’t been seen for nearly 100 years has been an absolute career highlight,  and for the family to trust Fieldings Auctioneers to look after such an important collection was a huge honour’
