Highlights from our April auction

Our two-day 22nd/23rd April auction was great success.  The sale included nearly 1000 lots of ceramics, Jewellery, Asian Art, clocks, paintings, watches, furniture, glass, collectables and much more. 

As we are still closed to the public on sale days, bidding was all via online bidding, absentee and telephone, and we had strong interest and bidding from clients in the UK, Europe, America and Australia. 

Highlights of the day were :-

• Lot 813 - A collection of five early 20th Century leather-bound photgraph albums documenting a tour of East Africa, Western Asia and South Africa

         Estimate £3,000 - 5,000

         Sold £17,000

• Lot 838 - Demetre Chiparus - The Oriental Dancer - A patinated, gilt and silvered bronze figure with ivory modelled as a dancing female in exotic costume

         Estimate £10,000 - 15,000

         Sold £10,000

• Lot 440 - MAURICE DE VLAMINCK (FRENCH, 1876-1958) - 'Le Carrefour', oil on canvas, signed.

         Estimate £8,000 - 12,000

         Sold £7,000

• Lot 209 - A Japanese Satsuma bowl by Yabu Meizan (1853-1934), Meiji (1868-1912)/Taisho (1912-1926) period.

         Estimate £1,500 - 2,000

         Sold £5,200
