Banksy Comes To Stourbridge

The elusive Banksy has been spotted in the Fielding’s saleroom !

Not the man himself but one of his iconic screen prints. ‘Toxic Mary’ was published in 2003 in an edition of  600 and is one of the artist’s best known and most thought provoking works.

Born in Bristol in 1974, Banksy began as a freehand graffiti artist, working anonymously under the cover of darkness to avoid arrest. He turned to stencilling in around 2000 after realising it was much quicker way of creating his large scale artworks.

Banksy’s stencils captured the public’s imagination. His political and social comments resonate with a huge audience. Works by Banksy have now mysteriously appeared all over the world and are hugely sought after in this ever growing Art market.

Fieldings Auctioneers are delighted to offer Toxic Mary in our forthcoming Collectors' Auction on 17th/18 November.
