Brown paper packages tied up with string...

...here are a few of our favourite things

Auctioneers and valuers pick their favourite lots in Saturday's (16th November) Auction

Kayleigh Davies - Toy Specialist

'I love this lot, every boy or girl remembers playing with dolls in their childhood.  This Patch doll is the last version Pedigree ever made for the Sindy range, and collectors love her because she has such a cute hand painted face.'

 lot 553, estimate £60-80

Will Farmer - Director

'I love this set as it reminds me of growing up in Derbyshire watching Agatha Christie's Poirot on the TV. The costume, furniture, sets, attention to detail were so amazing and at the heart of the series was Hercule Poirot's stunning apartment dressed with the finest examples of Art Deco furniture and of course this identical set from which he would take his tea while working the ‘little grey cells’……..its just a classic piece of simple design where less is absolutely more!

lot 551, estimate £40-60

Rachel Holland - Asian Art specialist

'The Pyjama Girl, just epitomises the Art Deco period, which I absolutely love! I have sold so many Josef Lorenzl figures over the years, however I have only ever seen a few of this particular figure. She would look fab in any home, I just wish it was mine'

lot 740, estimate £200-300

Andy Mayall - Furniture specialist

This chair is so stylish and would look great in a classic or modern home environment.  What I love about chairs like this, is to reflect on who has sat here in the last 130 years.

lot 900, estimate £60-80

Bill Lacey - Picture consultant

I just love this trompe l'oeil style of painting, the subject matter is not for everyone, however the skill the artist shows and his observation of the subject is exceptional.

lot 391, estimate £100-150
