A 19th century perpetual slate calendar clock by W Edwards Birmingham, circular white enamelled dial with recessed centre showing visible anchor escapement, the perpetual calendar having months to the edge with two subsidiary dials, the dial stamped by the maker and numbered 23478, on stepped base, height 39.5cm.

Condition report
The movement of the clock is stamped W. Edwards Birmingham and numbered 22647. The calendar movement is stamped 23476 219. The key and pendulum are both present. The movement strikes on the half hour, but is currently striking an hour too fast and requires attention. The glass door panel to the front of the clock dial is a little warped and requires attention. The case is constructed from moulded plaster encased in slate panels. The slate has discoloured and requires a polish. There is a painted metal door to the rear of the case.
