20th Century Design

We hold two 20th Century Decades of Design sales a year and would consider this one of our flagship auctions. Each encompasses around 1,000 lots of specialist items carefully selected by renowned expert, Will Farmer. 20th Century Design encapsulates anything and everything produced from 1880 to the present day, including ceramics, glass, artwork, furniture, jewellery, silver and any object considered a design classic. We offer design and modernism from arts and crafts, art nouveau, art deco, mid-century design, Scandinavian and Danish design classics through to modern-day contemporary design. Read more

Fieldings 20th Century Design house record – Clarice Cliff May Avenue charger sold for £21,500, previously used by grandma to keep the milk man's money, a really true rare find.

Will’s most memorable find – A Pulcini glass bird sculpture, circa 1964 designed by Alessandro Pianon for Vistosi, setting the record for highest price ever paid through auction for one of these little birds at £8,100.

Will’s dream find – a 1950s Piero Fornasetti trumeau architettura cabinet. He has a great passion for Fornasetti furniture as very little comes to the open market.

Clarice Cliff -' May Avenue' 18inch ribbed charger, circa 1933, sold £21,500
