Lot 739: Sold for £160 hammer

Estimate £70-£100

A 19th Century percussion musket, iron furniture, the butt stamped Mutzig No 8, barrel 93cm.

Condition report
No major splits , barrel rusted - The barrel and action shows serious pitting and loss to finish. The cocking mechanism is tight and holds in three positions and also releases. The grade of the barrel is generally poor and it cannot be determined if it is rifled. The firing nipple is blocked but that may be due to dirt and age rather than deactivation.
