Lot 830: Sold for £190 hammer

Estimate £40-£60

A 19th Century black lacquered vanity case with inlaid abalone shell decoration, detailed with a Greek key border around the outside of the box, the hinged lid opening to reveal the remains of a partially fitted interior, height 15cm, width 32cm and depth 24cm, A/F.

Condition report
Some loss to the lacquer and shell around the outside of the box. One of the fixing pins is missing from the rear of one of the hinges resulting in the hinge / lid being a little loose. The lift out tray to the interior is present but most of the compartmental dividers have become detached. The interior smells very musty. There are no bottles, tools or other fittings present.
