Lot 1118: Sold for £1,850 hammer

Estimate £300-£400

Amended description - A 20th Century French Louis XIV style walnut veneered and gilt metal mounted vitrine of cartouche form, the glass shelf interior enclosed by a glazed door below a brass gallery canopy on slender legs terminating in sabots, height 176cm x depth 38cm x width 66cm, S/D

Condition report
Amended condition report - The veneer is scuffed and starting to split slightly to the top left hand side and also is starting to blister and split slightly to the top of the right hand side. The gilt metal mount is loose to the bottom left corner and the veneer is dented slightly adjacent to this. The lining of the cabinet is heavily faded / sun bleached and requires replacing. There are two electric bulb holders fitted to the inside of the cabinet, but the cotton-covered electric flex had fatigued and is missing - requires re-wiring if lighting is required. The back boards of the cabinet are oak. One shelf cannot be fitted inside.
