A Victorian brass bound walnut veneered writing slope, opening to reveal a blue leather writing surface, inkwell, stamp well and pen tray and complete with two rulers, height 15cm (when closed) and width 35cm, together with a Tunbridge strapwork decorated walnut work box, with later lift out compartmental tray, height 14cm and width 28cm, both S/D. (2)

Condition report
Writing slope - There is an old split to the left hand side of the lid. The brass cartouche to the lid has been engraved by hand. There is a key. Work box - The cartouche to the lid and the keyhole escutcheon have both been later filled. Damage and repair around the hinges. Some splits to the veneer. There is no key. As mentioned, the lift-out tray is a later replacement.
