A late 20th Century Arts and Crafts style oak high back standard or side chair by Ian Laval, with sycamore line inlaid detail, with a drop in seat panel over turned and chamfered legs, unlabelled, height 121cm, width 47cm and depth 45cm Provenance - Purchased by the current owner's parents direct from the maker. Ian Laval is a cabinet maker who was based in Curthwaite Cumbria, before moving in 1999 to British Columbia, Canada, to make furniture there. NB - This chair is offered for sale as a work of art. The detachable seat cushion may not comply with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) Safety Regulations 1988 and for this reason should not be used in a private dwelling.
Condition report
The drop in seat pad would benefit from a clean or re-covering. Otherwise condition overall is good.
