A 19th Century French cross-banded rosewood veneered jardiniere or planter of rectangular form, with decorative gilt metal mounts and borders, the top with lift-off lid to the central metal lined well, with inlaid floral paterae to each corner, raised to tapered legs united by a shaped stretcher, height 79cm, width 60cm and depth 38cm, S/D.

Condition report
Some fading and wear. Some scuffs to the outer border of the top and some minor veneer loss to two of the paterae. Some minor dents and sections of veneer loss to the lift off lid. All gilt metal mounts appear to be present. Three of the collar mounts to the legs are loose.
