Lot 536: Sold for £260 hammer

Estimate £200-£300

A late 19th Century musical bracket clock, the eight day movement striking on a gong and a graduated set of eight musical bells, silvered dial and engraved corner spandrels enclosed by a glazed door, carved oak case with turned pilasters and spindle gallery pediment, height 56cm, S/D

Condition report
Amended condition report - The pendulum, winding key and the key to the rear door are all present, but there is no key to the glazed door to the dial - this is however open. The two side frieze panels to the top of the case are missing and one of the rear finials is loose. The silvered dial is scratched in places. The strike hammer to the gong has at some point had a soldered repair. The movement should strike on the quarter, but the strike fly has become detached - it is loose in the bottom of the case and the strike therefore does not currently engage. Some fading and scratches to the oak case of the clock.
