An early Victorian corkscrew by Robert Jones & Son of Birmingham, with turned bone handle and brass barrel, stamped with VR crown cypher and fully stamped for the maker Robert Jones & Son Makers, 105 Cheapside, Birmingham, Registered No. 423, 8th October 1840, overall length from the tip of the worm to the suspension loop 17cm, some wear, S/D.

Condition report
The brush is missing form one end of the handle and as roundel from the other end. The eyelet is present to the top of the handle to accommodate a suspension ring, but the ring itself is missing. Some chips and cracks to the handle. The brass barrel is OK. Operation of the worm is OK, but it does catch slightly on the two spikes which have been bent and dented out of shape.
