A 19th Century Vienna tray of rectangular form decorated with an classical allegorical scene of Alaric I, King of the Visigoths being serenaded with flowers, wine and offerings of wreaths, with musicians and figures raising their glasses, set to a classical interior with garlands and tree lined edges, indistinctly signed, the border edge in burgundy with a gilt ivy border, blue underglaze beehive mark, titled Alarich in Athen von den Griechen als Siegen gefeiert. 396 n Chr Geb (loosely translated as Alaric celebrated in Athens by the Greeks as victories), length 33cm
