A pair of mid 19th Century oak hall chairs the carved backs centred with a dog holding a spear within a raised ringed neck panel flanked by two swan type scrolls below three roundels on square tapering legs to the front, S/D (2) Formerly from Newton Manor, the Cumbria home of Commander Hugh Falcon Steward. The manor was purchased by the Steward family in 1841 to the descendants to the present day and the crest has been identified as the Watts family, Somerset.
