A 19th Century Yeomanry officers sword 91cm engraved blade decorated with rider on horseback and scales of justice, pierced gilt leaf basket ray skin wire handle and lion pommel with gilt mounted scabbard. The scabbard inscribed presented to Captain Edmund Peel by the members of Newtown troop of the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry cavalry in honour of the occasion of birth of a son and heir Ist March 1872.
