Captain John Miller's (played by Tom Hanks) headstone from the 1998 Steven Spielberg film Saving Private Ryan, inscribed 'John H Miller Captain 2 Rangers BN Pennsylvania June 13 1944', 120cm x 53cm x 10cm Constructed of white marble the headstone is in the form of a cross and was used for scenes set in the present day in the film where an elderly James Ryan (Harrison Young) paid honour and remembrance at the grave side. This war film was voted the most iconic of the 20th Century and the cross was heavily featured at the beginning and the end of the movie Provenance Lot 271 Prop Store , sale date 16th October 2014, with certificate.
