An impressive 20th Century Chinese painted hardwood four poster Opium bed, the front section inset with seven intricate carved panels depicting birds, deer, traditional flowers and foliage above a pierced opening over stylized fish and small red painted lanterns, below a panelled roof with character symbols and a rear two drawer gallery shelf, supported on four chambered pillars to conforming panelled sides and ends, the interlocking plank base raised on back block legs and painted red, black and gilt scroll frame to the front carved with exotic birds centred by a pierced scroll apron, 246 cm x 169 cm x 243.5 cm, together with a matching rectangular footstool/step on carved gilt frame and feet, 64 cm wide ILLUSTRATED
