An early 20th Century silver matchbox cover of stepped rectangular form, with oval aperture containing a watercolour study in the manner of Harry Davis (Royal Worcester artist) of two sheep amongst heather, signed with monogram H.D, the cover William Neale, Chester 1902, height 8cm, width 6.5cm and depth 4cm, S/D.

Condition report
There is no glass insert nor any backing to the aperture. Two of the four fixing lugs at the back of the aperture are missing. The rear right corner of the base is slightly bent out of shape and so the holder rocks slightly on a flat surface. The silver is tarnished. The watercolour panel is Ok.
