An early 19th Century rectangular black lacquer ware, ebonised mahogany tea caddy with gilt decoration of Asian figures in a landscape setting below a border of butterflies and birds opening to twin compartments, one with a Japanned tin cylindrical canister, length 24cm, S/D.
Condition report
Overall wear and dis-colouration/fading to back and top, gilt losses, overall very tired, no splits or cracks, missing feet and end sections of the skirt base.
