Lot 1096: Sold for £120 hammer

Estimate £100-£150

A late 19th to early 20th Century French four-glass mantel clock, the pink veined marble and bevelled glass case surmounted by a gilt painted lion finial, the four pillars flanking an enamelled dial with floral swag detail, the unsigned movement with mercury compensated pendulum striking on a bell on the hour and half hours, height 42cm, width 28cm and depth 15cm, S/D.

Condition report
The pendulum is present as is a key. There is a hairline crack to the bottom of the rear left hand pillar, approximately 3.5cm in length. The glass panels are Ok. The number 1 of the 12 on the dial is scuffed at the bottom of the numeral. The lion finial may have been over-painted. The strike of the movement is out of sync - it is striking 5 hours behind time.
