Lot 1275: Sold for £290 hammer

Estimate £200-£300

A pair of late 19th to early 20th Century continental carved pine torchere or jardiniere stands, each with a cartouche shaped platform over acanthus carved figural putti or cherub pedestals and scroll carved tripod bases, height 90cm and width of tops 35cm, S/D. (2)

Condition report
There is evidence of woodworm flight holes to both of the stands. This is mainly around the bases, but there is also a flight hole to the cheek of one of the cherubs. Some of these holes appear to have been filled at some point and both of the stands have been re-stained / polished. otherwise there appears to be some loss to the tips of the carved acanthus leaves on each pedestal. Some minor scuffs, scratches and dents to the tops and around the bases.
