Amended description - A later composed harlequin 19th Century boxwood chess set contained in a mahogany case, together with a raised edge chequer board, S/D. (2)

Amended condition report - Please note that this set has been composed from pieces from different sets. The knights in the ebonised pieces have been re-constructed. The ebonised pawns are composed from two different sets. The rooks in the boxwood pieces have been matched - one of the pieces having been stained to match the other. Several chips to the bases of the pieces. Height of king - 8.5cm The board is slightly warped but the inlay is generally Ok. There are some surface scuffs and scratches to the board in places. Some scuffs and scratches to the mahogany box and some ink stains to the interior of the box
