Lot 1277: Sold for £150 hammer

Estimate £50-£70

A late 19th Century ash and elm Windsor elbow chair, pierced splat on splayed legs united by a crinoline stretcher, together with a similar elbow chair, S/D (2)

Condition report
1st chair of fair colour and patination and has a saddle shaped seat. There are some worm flight holes to the underside of the elm seat. The crinoline stretcher and legs have at some point been re-glued. The chair does not sit quite straight and wobbles a little. 2nd chair poor colour and badly faded, presumably due to sunlight. Has had a repair to the joint between the right hand arm and its support. Some old worm flight holes to the underside of the seat.
