An Arts and Crafts inlaid oak overmantel mirror attributed to Shapland & Petter, with square capitals and carved stylised seed pod roundel, inlaid with elongated foliate detail to the pilasters, height 88cm and width 122cm, restored.
Condition report
All in good tidy order and ready to hang, but has been restored and repolished. There is a baton that has been tacked across the back of the pediment to strengthen the joint. There are two L-shaped ply braces thast have been applied to the bottom corner joints of the back of the mirror. The back board of the mirror is ply and has been stained - possibly a later replacement.
