A 19th Century Irish brass bound mahogany twin section military or campaign chest, stamped 'Ross & Co Camp Furniture Manufacturer 9,10 Elliss Quay, Dublin', fitted with two short and three long drawers, with brass recessed handles, height 104cm, width 99cm and depth 49cm, S/D.
Condition report
There is an old deep scratch to the top. There is a split across the back of the top. Deep gouge marks to the right hand side of the base section. There are some older gouge marks to the left hand side. There are no keys. There is a replacement lock to the top drawer. The chest is oak-lined. There is some shrinkage to the base boards of the drawers and one of these has also split. Some ink stain marks to the interior of the drawers as well.
