Lot 77: Sold for £120 hammer

Estimate £80-£120

Ashby Potters Guild - An early 20th Century Arts and Crafts vase and cover, the tapering body decorated in a tonal purple with fissuring, clouding and curtains showing a deep red beneath, the lid of shallow domed form decorated in a similar glaze, impressed oval mark, height 19cm, S/D.

Condition report
The base has an old bruise to the rim and a small firing imperfection. The base has three rather strange flaws. They look like firing issues where it has been removed from the kiln but it could equally be later damage as the body beneath is rather white. The lid looks to be in good order.
