Three late 19th Century Doulton Lambeth salt glazed stoneware jugs, the first commemorating Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield, the body with applied portrait roundel with incised verse to the sides, impressed mark with impressed retailers mark for John Mortlock & Co, Oxford Street and diamond registration mark, height 23cm, the second commemorating England's Great Commoner William Ewart Gladstone, the body and neck with printed verse and a portrait roundel, impressed mark, height 19cm, and the third a motto jug decorated to the body with the motto 'He that buys land buys stones, he that buys flesh buys bones, he that buys eggs buys many shells, he that buys good ale buys nothing else', each circular motto with a raised portrait roundel with a petal frame, impressed mark, height 21cm, all S/D. Condition report
Disraeli - has a star crack to the body. Gladstone - There is a firing line in the handle ribbing which has occurred in production but mentioned for accuracy. There are several small nibble chips to the spout. Motto - The handle has old hairlines to the neck and the body joints.
