Lot 1112: Sold for £380 hammer

A 19th Century mahogany cased bracket clock of arched form, the case with a carved foliate frieze with conforming corner spandrels and raised to shallow bun feet, with an eight inch painted dial signed Geoe. (George) Sharp, Mark Lane, London, enclosing a later associated twin fusee movement, unsigned, height 42.5cm and width 31cm, S/D.

Condition report
The veneer to the top of the case has lifted slightly and there is a small split and also a glued repair to the same along the front of the top. There is a split to the veneer of the case just below the number 6. A glued repair to the right hand plinth base. Some scratches to the case in places. Some loss to the fret cut detail of the rear door and replaced satin lining. The pendulum is present. Solder marks evident between the movement and rear of the dial and also a vacant screw hole to the fixing bracket indicating the movement may have been married to the case.
