Lot 1413: Sold for £160 hammer

A 1949 five pound banknote, serial no 65 008506 cashier P S.Beale, a Britannia one pound note, a ten shilling note, various Egyptian notes, also two worn wreck coins from the Association, a shilling and a sixpence dated 1696 with certificates, a boxed Lusitania iron medal and various nickel and bronze coinage some in wallets. (qty) NB - The Association was wrecked in October 1707 on Gilstone rock off the Scilly Isles and sank with the loss of Sir Clowdisley Shovell and over 1400 men. After 250 years the wreck was found by divers and coins and artefacts were recovered and sold by auction in 1969.

Banknotes - Five pound , one pound and ten shillings -VG, some Egyptian VG and worn circulated notes. Wreck coins are very sea worn. Remaining coins are G-VG or better
