A large 18th Century German Westerwald salt glazed beer stein decorated with a band of flowers and foliage between borders of repeat patterns, the whole in tonal blue with a domed pewter cover inscribed C.L 1784, height 30cm, S/D.

Condition report
There is rubbing and losses to the pointed sections of the raised bands. Several small firing cracks to the base. Various dents and scuffs to the pewter.
