Lot 621: Sold for £170 hammer

Estimate £100-£200

A pair of Chinese Huanghuali style official's chairs, (Republic Period 1912-1944), the yoke shaped official's hat top rail with central carved splat with dragon design, the tubular scroll carved arms before a mitred seat and carved and pierced pediment, height 115cm, depth 48cm and width 60cm. (2), S/D

Condition report
Overall structural condition is good, both sit square and are of sturdy construction. Wear and fading to the wood throughout. Some splits to the back splats and there is an old repair to the capital to one of the arms of the chairs. Please note the chairs are not Huanghuali, but produced and carved to look like the rare species of wood.
