American Encaustic Tiling Company - Six 6 inch polychrome tiles decorated with nursery rhyme subjects, circa 1922, comprising Rub a dub-dub, two Simple Simon, Little Jack Horner, Ding dong bell and Little Bo-Peep. (6) Tiles from this series were used in the children's nursery bath in the mansion build by Marjorie Merriweather Post called Mar a Largo in 1924. The mansion is now the clubhouse of the Trump Mar a Largo resort.
Condition report
All have minor scuffs and nibbles to the corners and edges. Ding dong bell has considerable chipping to tone edge. All have varying levels of plaster residue to the backs.
