A boxed Moorcroft Pottery vase of shouldered form with a squat collar neck, decorated in the Tamlaine pattern designed by Emma Bossons, impressed and painted marks, numbered 2 of 2, height 24cm. This vase was made and sold at the Moorcroft September Open Weekend Auction held on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September 2019, lot 16  'Emma chose a classic vase shape to tell of her interpretation of a painted called Tamlaine by James Herbert MacNair based on a fable called the Ballard of Tam Lin. The story revolved around a woman named Janet who passed through the forest of Carterhaugh and meets Tam Line who is a slave to the Fairy Queen. This unique version is brought to us on an ivory backdrop and a smaller shape'
