Two Japanese puppets or dolls, circa 1900-1920, the oversized carved wooden and painted heads with gofun style finish, with cloth torso and arms and legs terminating at carved wooden feet and hands, each adorned with silk and embroidered kimono, the male figure with a horsehair beard, the female with a carved and painted chignon, each height approximately 42cm, retains original Liberty price ticket from 1980s.

Condition report
Overall condition is commensurate with age, there is cracking to the pigments on the painted heads and small losses. Overall condition of Kimono robes, are degraded and worn from sun damage, fading and holes in areas. Female figure lacking one carved wooden foot. With original Liberty price ticket, stating £650 Pair.
