A medal group to Lieutenant Commander Cecil John Parry Simons Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve comprising World War One Victory and War medal, World War Two Defence, War Medal with oak leaf, 1939-45, Africa and Atlantic Stars and a Distinguished Service Cross dated 22nd June 1943, with various photographs to include one of Simons with Gracie Fields and correspondence from the Secretary to the Admiralty, together with his Naval sword. NB - Simons took a mine sweeping course at the end of World War One and then served on minesweepers in World War Two rising to the rank of Commander in the Nore fleet out of Harwich, flagship HMS Martello. Provenance - By family descent.
