Lot 1008: Sold for £320 hammer

Estimate £200-£300

A late 19th to early 20th Century stained pine stool, possibly Italian, the seat in the form of a scallop shell raised to a stylised dolphin pedestal on an acanthus carved trefoil base, height 52cm and width 45cm, S/D.

Condition report
Scuffs, scratches and minor dents to the seat of the stool. There is a 6cm split towards the front of the seat, but this does not extend all of the way through the seat. There is a repaired break through the top of the pedestal beneath the front of the seat - this has ben tacked and glued. There are some woodworm flight holes to the base and a glued repair to a split. There have been a few filled repairs made to both the seat and the base and the stool appears to have been re-polished.
