Two 19th Century framed samplers, the first worked by Martha Foster aged 8 years in 1863 with the alphabet and religious verse, 26cm x 20cm, the second worked by Sarah Chapman in 1854 with a passage from the bible, 19cm x 19.5cm. (2)
Condition report
Martha Foster framed 33.5cm x 27.5cm, Sarah Chapman 30.5cm x 31cm. Both have losses and nibbles to the frames. Both samplers have staining and small pin holes.
