Colin Reid - 'Peace Lily' - A kilncast optical glass table raised to a wrought iron stand, made in 2010, measures 76 cm tall. Colin Reid is regarded as a pioneer in the field of kilncast glass. He exhibits internationally and has work in over 45 collections worldwide. Notable commissions include 'Cipher Stone', at over 500kg one of the largest artworks to have been cast in optical glass in the UK. Peace Lily table is from a series of tables cast from giant tropical leaves which includes the magnificent Musa Cavendishii table commissioned by the Devonshire Collection for Chatsworth House, UK. Colin recently won the prestigious Peoples Prize at the 2010 British Glass Biennale for his piece 'Still Life with Books'. He is an Associate of the Royal Society of British Sculptors and an honorary member of the Contemporary Glass Society. www.colinreidglass.co.uk
