A 1940's South Indian rosewood refectory dining table, the plank top on twin pillar shaped end supports, united by an undertier, 137cm x 90cm Made in 1944 in the old native state of Travencore South India by Rollo Gross principal of the Trivandrum college, the timber arrived with transportation by elephant! It was believed that only two tables were ever made. Provenance and further details from a letter written by Mr Ron Middleton in 1985
