A late Ming Dynasty tixi lacquer bowl, deeply carved around the body through alternate layers of red and black lacquer with pendant scrolling lappets and corresponding upright ruyi heads, below a plain band under the flaring rim, the interior and base with metal lining, stamped character mark to the base, diameter 10.5cm.
