Bernard Pearsall (b.1923) - Portrait of prisoner Donald Hulme with Dartmoor Prison beyond, oil on canvas, signed and dated 1957, framed, 61cm x 51cm Bernard Pearsall began painting in Dartmoor Prison whilst serving a ten year sentence. He painted scenes of prison life and fellow prisoners. An exhibition of the artist's work was held at the Upper Grosvenor Galleries, London in 1968
